Former NFL running back Zac Stacy is facing felony charges of aggravated battery and criminal mischief after a shocking video showed him brutally attacking his ex-girlfriend Kristin Evans in front of their infant son. Stacy, 31, was arrested on Thursday night at Orlando International Airport as he exited an inbound flight from Nashville, according to Orlando Police spokeswoman Heidi Rodriguez.

The video, which Evans posted on her Facebook and Instagram accounts, captured the violent incident that occurred on November 13, 2021, at Evans' home in Oakland, Florida. The footage showed Stacy punching Evans in the head, throwing her into a TV, and slamming her into a baby walker, while their son lay on the couch nearby. Evans can be heard pleading with Stacy to stop and crying out in pain.

Evans told CNN that she was "terrified" and "grateful" that Stacy was in police custody. She also said that she filed a restraining order and planned to file a civil complaint against him. She urged the NFL and commissioner Roger Goodell to address the issue of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) among former players, which she claimed was the cause of Stacy's erratic behavior.

Stacy, who played for the St. Louis Rams and the New York Jets from 2013 to 2015, retired from the NFL due to injuries. He later joined the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2018 and the Memphis Express in 2019, but both leagues folded before he could play a full season.

Stacy appeared in court on Friday and was ordered to have no contact with Evans and to surrender his passport and firearms. He was also given a bond of $10,150, which he posted on Monday. He was then transferred to the Orange County Jail, where he will serve six months as part of a plea deal. He pleaded guilty to battery, while the criminal mischief charge was dropped.

Stacy's case has sparked outrage and condemnation from the public and the NFL community. Several former and current players, such as DeAngelo Williams, Torrey Smith, and Eric Ebron, expressed their disgust and support for Evans on social media. The NFL also issued a statement saying that it was "appalled by the horrific video" and that it was "committed to working with the NFLPA and other organizations to support victims of domestic violence and to prevent incidents like this from happening in the first place".
